The Alexander and Lloyd Group (A&L), comprising independent companies Sydney-based Alexander & Lloyd Australia Pty Ltd (ALAUS) and Port Moresby-based Alexander & Lloyd Pacific Limited (ALPAC), is an architectural and project management company that has been in continuous practice since the 1950s. Since the 1970’s A&L has specialised in the design and implementation of construction development assistance projects in developing countries, principally in the Asia-Pacific region for donor agencies such as the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs (DFAT), the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB), Agence Francaise de Development (AFD) and the World Health Organisation (WHO). A&L recently celebrated 50 years of continual operation, making it one of the oldest architectural and project management companies operating within the Asia Pacific region.
A&L has considerable experience across all infrastructure sectors, including law & justice, health, education, transport and energy, industrial, institutional, customs, quarantine and housing. Professional services include technical assistance in the form of feasibility studies, master planning, project design, monitoring & evaluation and capacity building of local personnel – through to full architectural design, documentation, tendering, construction supervision and contract administration of large construction projects. Our staff are familiar with working in multi-disciplinary consultant teams and are sensitive at all times to cross-cutting issues such as skills transfer, gender, the environment, disability inclusiveness, community development and procurement transparency.
A&L have been working continuously in PNG since the early 1980’s and have managed the delivery and construction of large and small infrastructure and community development projects in all of PNG’s 19 provinces, many in remote locations. In 2006 A&L established Alexander and Lloyd Pacific (ALPAC) in PNG to better manage their expanding PNG workload. ALPAC has a fully equipped office in downtown Port Moresby, including IT and vehicles. ALPAC presently operates as a commercial entity independent of ALAUS.
Over the past 10 years, A&L have managed over 100 consultancy assignments across PNG and other Pacific Islands.
